Welcome to the E.R.I.C. Yellow Dot Program!

The E.R.I.C. Yellow Dot Program was designed to enhance the safety of special needs students riding in school transportation vehicles to and from school.  This program was mirrored after the Pennsylvania’s Yellow Dot Program. The E.R.I.C program was created to assist special needs riders in need of emergency care following a traffic accident when they may not be able to communicate their needs themselves or the school bus driver is incapacitated.

E.R.I.C. stands for Emergency Response Information Card.  The E.R.I.C. form will contain important information an emergency medical responder will need to help care for these special children during an emergency. It is recommended that the E.R.I.C. form be filled for each child on the bus, completed in pencil, and reviewed and updated as necessary but at least every school year to ensure the information is up to date.  The E.R.I.C. forms for all the students on the bus route will then be placed in a yellow box, securely closed and placed in the school vehicle ready for an emergency.
